Worship at Grace

Grace Church offers four distinct worship services and styles. The dynamic preaching ministry at Grace Church brings Biblical, relevant, and provocative messages. Play the audio file of Pastor Bob Atkins' weekly sermon on the home page for a sampling.  Music from our many choirs and musicians enhances each service.

5:00 pm Service

This intimate, informal Circle of Worship meets in the Activity Center. Set to the stirring vocals of singer/songwriter Vickie Wagner, this worship hour features circular seating and a healing service with anointing oils twice per month. There is also an American Sign Language interpreter at Saturday Evening Worship for those who are heaing impaired.  Communion and a time for children accompany a message focusing on scripture each week. Come and worship with your family in casual attire. To learn more about our Saturday service, click the "Read About Saturday Evening Worship" link at right.

8:15 am Service

New Life Singers and The Grace Bell Ensemble, featuring classic hymns, accompany a thematic message in a traditional setting. Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month.

9:30 am Service

The Chancel Choir fills the sanctuary with classical choral music. This service follows a formal worship pattern based on United Methodist tradition. Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month. The 9:30am Sunday worship service is also broadcast at 11:00am on WONC Radio, 89.1 FM.

11:00 am Service

Pastor Matthew Johnson began leadership of this worship service in January 2015.  Along with thought-provoking visual projections, truly unique, interactive connections with the congregation, and meaningful messages for the people of today's changing church, the Grace Praise Team provides contemporary music from both the the religious and secular worlds in this service. Pastor Matthew's messages often reflect topics and discussions that appear on his website (www.porticocollective.org), blogs, and webcasts.

Messages and worship services are taped for congregational use. Holy Communion is served every Saturday at the 5:00pm service. On the first Sunday of every month, Holy Communion is served at all three Sunday morning services. The sacrament of Baptism can be celebrated at any of the three Sunday worship services. Please make arrangements with Sharon Ferguson (630-355-1748, ext. 223).

The 9:30am Sunday worship service is broadcast at 11:00am on WONC Radio, 89.1 FM.
Toddler and Infant Care is provided for all Sunday morning services, 8:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
