Music Ministry
The diversity of wonderful opportunities in music and worship ministries at Grace Church is truly unique. In total, there are 12 vocal and instrumental groups for people of all ages, levels of ability, and musical styles, plus special events throughout the year that welcome additional musicians. All are invited to become involved in the music ministry of Grace. We've got room for you, your children, and your grandchildren in our many friendly choirs and ensembles. Children, teens and adults, come discover how you can get involved today!
GRADED CHILDREN'S CHOIRS In addition to the opportunities children of all ages have to sing in worship with our various graded children's choirs, they can also participate in our annual Children's Musical, over Mother's Day weekend, and other special opportunities throughout the year.
Angelus Choir Grades K and 1; rehearse Wednesdays, 5:00-6:00 p.m., directed by Renee Roscoe-Morrison
Cherub Choir Grades 2 and 3; rehearse Wednesdays, 5:00p.m. to 6:00p.m., directed by Sue Riedinger
Junior Singers Grades 4-7; rehearse Wednesdays, 5:00p.m. to 6:00p.m., directed by Lynn Leitzen
Children's Bell Ensemble Grades 4-7; rehearse Wednesdays, 4:00p.m. to 5:00p.m., directed by Debbie John
YOUTH MUSIC MINISTRY
Vocalists and band members in grades 8-12 rehearse Sundays, 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary, directed by Dan and Vickie Wagner and Lynn Leitzen
Handbell players in grades 8-12 rehearse Sundays, 6:00 p.m. in Room 160, directed by Angela Sterchi
ADULT CHOIRS
Grace Chancel Choir Grace's largest choir, singing classics, hymn settings, Gospel and more. Sing at the 9;30 a.m. worship service and for special concerts and holy days. Rehearse Thursdays 7:30-9:00 p.m., directed by Dan Wagner. Interview recommended for voice placement (contact andante147@gmail.com).
Grace Chamber Singers Smaller auditioned choral ensemble, singing Early Music, Baroque, Chamber Choral Music. Sing at occasional worship services, outside concerts and Masterworks events. Rehearse Thursdays 7:00-7:30 p.m., directed by Dan Wagner.
New Life Singers Informal choral ensemble, singing inspirational, Gospel, and hymn arrangements in a relaxed, fun rehearsal environment. Sing twice per month at the 8:15 a.m. worship service; rehearse Wednesdays, 7:15-8:45 p.m., directed by Sherrie Holdeman.
Grace Praise Team Vocalists and instrumentalists lead 11:00 a.m. worship with current contemporary praise and worship music, enhanced by microphones and visual projection. Play at special events, concerts and services; rehearse Tuesdays, 7:15-9:00 p.m., directed by Worship Leaders Lynn Leitzen and Dan Wagner. Contact Dan Wagner at andante147@gmail.com for an audition.
Contemporary Vocal Ensemble This six-voice group is our newest ensemble, singing gently contemporary selections at special choral events, on holy days, etc.
INSTRUMENTAL GROUPS
Grace Bell Ensemble Advanced handbells for adults. Play at the 8:15 a.m. worship service and other services, concerts and events. Rehearse Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m.; directed by Val Dudley. There are also children's and youth bell ensembles (see the Children's and Teen Choirs tabs).
Instrumental Solos and Ensembles Advanced high school through adult players; rehearsals scheduled as needed. Play in occasional morning services and concerts, including preludes, offeratories, and special instrumental occasions. Conducted by Dan Wagner; contact Dan at andante147@gmail.com for an audition.
Resident Brass Ensemble Advanced high school and intermediate adults; rehearsals and frequency of playing based on musician availability; outside practice time required. Directed by Dan Wagner; contact Dan at andante147@gmail.com for an audition.
Contemporary Band Musicians Play with the Grace Praise Team at 11:00 a.m. worship on a rotating basis with other instrumentalists; rehearse Tuesdays 7:15-9:00 p.m. Openings for advanced drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, winds and brass; outside practice time needed. Advanced high school students welcome by audition, or see "His Grace" teen praise band under the "Teen Choirs" tab.
