Five Commitments

Five Commitments:

Serving God at Grace United Methodist Church

Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap;
for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.

Luke 6:38

Whenever we welcome new members to Grace United Methodist Church, we all renew our vow to uphold the church by our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service and our witness. These are five commitments to God and to the People of Grace.

This fall, we're asking you to respond to all five of those commitments in 2013. Please pray about each of them.

There are two forms for you to complete. The Estimate of Giving card is the same as it has been in years past - your family should turn in one card - either the hardcopy or the online Estimate of Giving form. That's the "gifts" part. The new service form is for each member of Grace (confirmed youths through adults) to report individual commitments. It also covers the commitments of prayer, presence and witness, but "service" is what we're most interested in. This is where you commit to serving God at Grace UMC during 2013.

The service form is important because it tells the pastors and ministry leaders whom they can count on to serve in volunteer roles. If you've always wanted to volunteer in some role - such as counting the Sunday morning offering, for example - use the form to tell us. If you are expressing interest in a new opportunity, or one in which you have not been involved in some time, someone will call you after the new year begins. If you are continuing a ministry in which you are already involved, please indicate that on the form, and we thank you for your service.

You may complete the Estimate of Giving form and the service form from the following links:

You may also complete the paper forms mailed to your household. Even though you may turn in your paperwork - hardcopy or electronic - before Commitment Sunday on November 11, please make every effort to attend worship on November 11, so that we can participate together in the act of placing our commitments in the offering plate.

Thank you for your commitments to God and to Grace! If you have any questions regarding these service opportunities, please contact Pastor Lisa Telomen at 630-355-1748, ext. 226, or by email.
